The images here show some of the Mandala paintings for the Water Drum Bags that I have done over the years. These are painted with 3-4 undercoats and 3-4 color coats so the colors are strong and vibrant. After painting, the top is sewn, the padding layer added, and then I stitch around the design. This gives a bas-relief to the outside painting and the pattern is seen when unzipping and opening the bag. This creates a bit of unexpected magic to have the pattern both on the outside and inside of the bag.
The Water Drum Bag will fit a size 6 or 7 quart kettle. Typically made with 15 oz canvas in red and blue these bags are made to be used for many years to come. They are lined in a water resistant nylon fabric.
Drums are heavy and there is a lot of stress on the handle so I add a wide tab at the ends of the handle and sew them on to each side of the bag. This distributes the stress of the weight of the drum over a larger area.
The bags are padded with a soft yet firm foam that protects the contents as well as what is around it when it is being transported.
After many requests, I have added a drum stick pocket in the back of the bag.
I am able to custom make you a bag in a different color canvas or fabric, and there can be an up-charge for that, depending on what fabric I have in stock.
I love to customize the art on these bags so they represent meaning for the person they are being made for. Occasionally I have used someone's original artwork and adapted it.
I also make larger bags of this kind for water buckets and food bowls, by request, and for an up-charge.
No leather is used on these vegan bags.
Made in the USA.
